NPPB

(New Plastic Packaging Box)

NPPB is a new patented production concept to create a transformation in the consumer goods plastic packaging sector

Valunorm has developed and patented a new production process called NNPB for the packaging industry. This concept is open for sharing with partners who are willing to further develop the NPPB and turn this project into commercial success.

The objective of the NPPB is to produce plastic packaging (containers, bottles, cups, etc…) with less limitations compared to today’s processes. This process is based on extrusion / blow moulding / thermoforming, but there are also innovative steps to ensure the advantages mentioned below.

Advantages of NPPB

  • No restrictions on dimensions
    → all ratios “height vs footprint” are feasible: very deep containers/bottles, also with undercuts/3D embossing
    → enhanced shelf impact (marketing) + possibility to optimize transport/palletising (lower transport costs/pollution)
  • Pre-printing is possible on 100% of the surface
    → this makes it possible to produce single material packaging, which facilitates recycling
  • Production costs low(er) compared to existing processes (due to thickness uniformity)
    → less packaging waste + positive financial results
  • All materials are possible: PET, PE, PP, etc. including multi-layer + bioplastics
